WOMAD has been bringing music from all over the world to England since 1982, and the line-up reads like an atlas: desert blues, Colombian techno, Afrobeat, songs in Tamil and Arabic. There are big names, but people come for the surprises: you drift from tent to tent and end up at Qawwali flamenco or at a xylophone ensemble whose percussion rolls through the tent in waves.
In 2026 the festival moved from Charlton Park to Neston Park near Corsham: more compact, with old trees that give shade by day and are lit up at night. After dark the tents keep dancing until four, to old records from Guadeloupe, for example. All around, a crowd from babies to couples over eighty, many of them coming back for years, some carrying their camping chairs right up to the stage.

- There is hardly any phone signal on the new site, and the stages are far apart: agree on fixed meeting points before your crew gets scattered. If you want to sleep, camp at the edge – in 2026 the DJ bass reached the camp until about four in the morning.
