VooV started in 1991 as a garden party, now calls itself the mother of all Goa festivals and lies by a stream in the forest near Putlitz, between Hamburg and Berlin. From midnight on Friday until six on Monday morning the music runs without a break on two floors: progressive by day, full-on at night. The main floor dances under a colourful tent roof with lasers and a sound that comes through clearly everywhere; in the forest, lights, wooden sculptures and projections glow, and by the stream a narrow sandy beach waits for your dance break.
The crowd is unusually mixed: Putlitz locals on discounted residents’ tickets, Danes, Swedes and Poles, young people from the town and people over eighty. On the main floor, though, many guests are bothered by pumped-up posers, coke and phone cameras; if you want to get away from that, head under the trees to the second stage, where it’s friendlier, more alternative and at its best at night.

Check first
- Come early: the campsite opens on Thursday at 6 pm, and anyone who arrived in the evening in 2026 sat in traffic for an hour and a half and could barely find a spot. No one under 16 gets in, and on the way home the police check cars and test for drugs.
