Void Fest

Never more than a thousand people, a club with over a hundred helpers and a line-up full of bands hardly anyone knows beforehand.

Since 2012 the club has run the festival on its own, on the Goaswiesn meadow in Sinzendorf near Waldmünchen. On Fridays bands play until four in the morning; on Saturdays the Camp Stage by the campsite wakes you at half past ten. The bands come from all over the world, but they aren't big names: you come because you trust the booking.

In front of the stages the crowd is a colourful mix, from black metal fans to pink cowboy hats, and the low tent stage is packed in the evenings. Food is vegan only, you sleep next to your own car, and if you come alone, you quickly find people to hang out with.

Check first

• There are only 999 tickets, and in past years they were gone long in advance; sales last opened in May. Bring cash, water and your own shade, and expect mud in heavy rain: in 2017 the camp turned into a mud bath, and in 2023 the lower campsite only opened after it had been mulched.

• You like small festivals where many people come back every year, and you go without knowing the line-up. You don't need meat for it, and not much sleep either.
