Viña Rock is the big reunion of Spain’s punk, rock, rap and reggae scene: founded in 1996, held around 1 May in Villarrobledo. The crowd sings along to every line: parents with their kids for Celtas Cortos, tears in people’s eyes for Lia Kali and La Raíz while strangers pass each other tissues. When the stages close, many head on to the raves above the camp; in 2026 the rock and dub tents were scheduled until five or six in the morning. Regulars often buy their ticket before they know who’s playing.
The camp is the second main venue: by day two your tent neighbours are friends, people argue about politics over breakfast, paella sizzles on gas stoves and camp streets are called Avenida del Desfase. Comfort is scarce: there aren’t enough toilets, showers cost extra and aren’t always hot. Far fewer guests came in 2026 than in 2023; some found it more relaxed, regulars miss the days when everyone knew each other.

Check first
- Pack for sun and frost: by day you get burnt on areas without shade, at night car windows freeze – a sunshade, sunscreen and a warm sleeping bag are part of the kit.
- If you want to sleep, pitch your tent well away from the raves, and valuables are better kept in a locker: theft is a recurring topic.
