Taubertal is home turf for German punk, rock and rap: around 15,000 people a day on the Eiswiese meadow in the valley, with Rothenburg's old town above. The line-up is built on bands that keep coming back, Donots for the sixth time in 2026; you'll usually wait in vain for a global star.

Many have been coming for ten or twenty years, know their camp neighbours from last year and plan the next camp on the spot. The mood is peaceful and friendly, in the mosh pit just as much as on the way out. The old Taubertal with a generator and a tent next to the car has been gone since 2022; some regulars miss the wild camps.

Check first

  • The big campsite is up on the hill: it's about half an hour's walk to the stage, and the way back at night is a steep climb, because the shuttle only runs until 9 pm.
  • Plan to arrive on Wednesday with plenty of slack – in 2026 many were stuck in traffic for hours – and agree on fixed meeting points, because mobile signal barely gets through on site and at the campsite.
