Szene Openair has been run since 1990 by a youth and culture association from Lustenau: non-profit, with around 800 volunteers, some of whom have been taking holiday for it for decades. For many teenagers from Vorarlberg it's the first festival their parents let them go to on their own; for others it's a reunion with people they don't see all year. The site rarely feels really packed, and after three days you know every corner and half the queue at the supermarket.
The line-up brings German-language rap and pop such as Ski Aggu, Cro or Seiler und Speer, plus guitar bands like Sportfreunde Stiller, and young Vorarlberg bands in the wooden pavilion. In front of the stage it gets wild but considerate: during Filow in 2026 huge mosh pits were spinning and everyone looked out for each other. The campsite has its own parties and its own rules, but on Sunday morning a lot still ends up in the rubbish bag, because the bags carry a deposit.

Check first
- Umbrellas are banned across the whole site, so pack a rain jacket and wellies. According to the organiser, only four of the last ten editions stayed completely dry.
- Pitches aren't marked and a ticket doesn't guarantee you one: if your crew wants to camp together, queue early. Nobody under 16 sleeps on the campsite, not even with their parents' permission.
