Sumol Summer Fest started out with reggae; since 2017 the stage has belonged to hip-hop and rap. Over the years it has brought Post Malone, Sean Paul and Rudimental, and Trippie Redd’s return was announced for 2026. Up front it gets tight: in 2023 even Iann Dior jumped into a huge mosh pit, and at the closing concert the artist had to stop several times because people in front of the stage were feeling unwell.
After its years in Ericeira, the festival now takes place at the Inatel campsite on the Costa da Caparica, with tents and stage on the same grounds. Comfort isn’t the promise: outside the festival, according to a 2025 report, the site has been closed and run-down since the pandemic.

Check first
- Expect outages in the camp: in 2026 one camper reported water cuts in the showers and no electricity, and in October was still waiting for a refund.
- With a day ticket there’s no re-entry, and your own food and drinks stay outside. Children up to six aren’t allowed in at all.
Right for you
- You want the big rap names live, like being up front in the pit and need nothing more than a tent for two nights. If you want to discover new bands, you’re better off elsewhere.
