Saturday, ten in the morning: the Jägermeister breakfast kicks off at the campsite, and the punks are there too.

Since 1976 the youth association from Stemwede has been putting on this festival, in 2026 for the 50th time and with around 300 volunteers. Drinks sales pay for it, and whatever is left goes into youth work in the village: here your beer is your ticket. The Waldbühne brings in rock, ska and punk from further afield, the Wiesenbühne belongs to bands from the region, and the Sonnensystem has singer-songwriters and poetry slam in the afternoon and techno until morning at night.

At least as important as the stages is the campsite in the fields: sound-system camps, chairs outside the tents until late at night, an area with looser rules. Among it all are children, teenagers and people who have come almost every year since the eighties and now bring their own kids; guests call the atmosphere relaxed, family-like and rather left-leaning.

Check first

  • The campsite only opens on Friday at eight; Thursday is only available through the limited “50 für 50” quota, which was booked out last time. Coming without a car? Plan your way back: the shuttle to Lemförde station doesn't run in the evening until the last bands, and nothing runs at night.
  • Guests keep complaining about the portaloos: too few and emptied too rarely; they praise the flush toilets with a weekend wristband.
