Sonorama Ribera

At midday on the Plaza del Trigo nobody knows who’s about to play – in 2025 one surprise gig even came from a balcony.

Since 1998 this festival has taken over Aranda de Duero every August. By day, bands play for free in the squares of the old town, with water pistols, lechazo and local wine. From seven in the evening it carries on at the El Picón site, on six stages until five in the morning.

The line-up has big names such as Leiva, Vetusta Morla or Arde Bogotá, alongside lots of young Spanish bands who play from early evening. The crowd comes from all over Spain; for 2026 the organiser cites around 150,000 visits over five days without explaining how they were counted. By Saturday at the latest it gets really packed on the Plaza, at the bars and at the toilets.

• The camp in the park has no fixed pitches: arrive late and you end up in the blazing sun or next to the toilets, and at midday it’s often around 40 °C.
• Gazebos are banned, rooms in town go fast, and there’s no train to Madrid – take the festival bus from Madrid, Burgos or Valladolid.
