Sinnflut is less a concert festival than Erding’s summer meeting place: for eleven days, crafts, jewellery and esoteric goods stand next to food stalls from all over the world on the festival ground by the stadium. Regulars happily queue a long time for the Barbarenspieß skewer, and there’s vegetarian and vegan food too.
The music plays in beer gardens: at the VR-Bank stage, on the Erding stage and in the Tanzgarten under the pagoda, where DJs take over at night. Lots of local bands play the stages, right down to a school band in the afternoon; in between there’s circus, wrestling, dance-along sessions and a mural that Mr. Woodland paints in the middle of the market square. All in all, a smaller, less crowded Tollwood, with a crowd that ranges from alternative to folksy.

Check first
- There’s no camping on the site or nearby, and the concerts in the ice arena need a separate ticket. From around 7 pm it gets crowded, and many guests find food and drinks expensive and pricier every year.
Right for you
- You want to drop by on summer evenings on a whim, eat, have a beer and hear bands from the area – and you’re happy to bump into people you haven’t seen in ages. If you’re after a camping weekend with a big line-up, this isn’t it.
