Rock en Seine is the big end-of-summer finale just outside Paris: five evenings in late August in the park at Saint-Cloud, with names like The Cure, Nick Cave or Lorde at the top of the bill. Out front, school kids mix with parents carrying a child on their shoulders and older fans with folding chairs, and anyone who listens between the headliners goes home with a new favourite band.
The site is a long, narrow park full of trees: it’s a kilometre from the entrance to the main stage, and for headliners the crowd backs up a long way.
If you want to be up front, you come early and let the other stages go; if you’d rather take it easy, you sit on the hill next to the main stage or in the shade and listen from there.

- For the headliner, get to the main stage early and stay put: further back, trees and the crowd block the view for many, and afterwards the exit becomes a bottleneck.
- Pack old shoes: after thunderstorms the park quickly turns muddy and slippery, and in the dry summer of 2025 the paths kicked up so much dust that visitors were coughing.
