The festival is run by an association from Merkers on the Werra that has been putting on shows in an old forest stadium since 2013 and laid the water and power lines there itself; around 200 volunteers pitch in over the weekend. The motto is “Wir rocken rechts weg” – we rock the far right away – and they mean it: activists take the stage between bands, there’s no music without politics here. Around 30 bands on two stages, in 2024 including Pascow and Turbostaat.
With a good thousand people it stays manageable: short walks, no rushing between stages, no dangerous crush in front of the big one. The crowd is diverse, the pit is friendly, and the camp gives newcomers a warm welcome.

Check first
- Pack for two kinds of weather: in early June the nights have repeatedly turned properly cold, and there’s no shade during the day. Drinking water and showers are only up at the forest stadium, and there’s no power in the camp at all.

- For crews who want punk without big-festival rush and take a stand against the far right as a given. Without a car: train to Bad Salzungen, bus to Merkers.
