In Riga, the forest festival by the sea has turned into a series of big concert nights.

Until 2019 Positivus sat between pines and the Baltic Sea in Salacgrīva: small stages hidden among the trees, hammocks in the shade, a dip in the sea between two concerts and fairy lights in the woods at night.
From 2022 to 2025 it ran for two days on the river island of Lucavsala at the edge of the city centre, with hip-hop and pop stars at the top of the bill. From 2022 to 2024, 20,000 to 25,000 people came per day. For many long-time fans it hasn't been Positivus since; others praise the organisation and the more current bands. In 2026 it shrank to a single night with Calvin Harris in Mežaparks.

Check first
- The organiser called the single night in 2026 an exception; how long and where Positivus runs after that is open, and in 2025 the festival wouldn't say whether it will return to Lucavsala.
- You can't bring food or drinks. Allowed are empty clear water bottles for refilling, empty shatterproof reusable food containers and special food for children, which you show to security before the entrance. Guests found the drinks inside expensive.
Right for you
- For crews who head to Riga for the summer's big hip-hop and pop names and care more about dancing than camping. If you want forest, sea and a tent city, you're looking for a Positivus that no longer exists in that form.
