POSITIV brings techno into the Roman theatre of Orange: the stage is covered, and people dance on the open stone tiers, packed tight, colourful and covered in glitter. On one night in 2026 there were more than 8,000 people, according to the local press. The venue carries it all: year after year, guests praise the sound between the ancient walls, while lights and video projections play across the theatre.

And Orange joins in: you can already hear techno in the town centre, shops stay open later, and in the afternoon there’s a free pre-party outside the theatre. The crowd is more mixed than you’d expect for techno – one guest celebrated their 73rd birthday here.

• The tiers are open to the sky, umbrellas are banned, and in the past guests couldn’t find a signposted drinking water point: pack a poncho and an empty bottle under 50 cl. Payment is cashless only, guests find the drinks expensive, and alcohol, barbecues and gazebos are off-limits in the camp.
