Until 2017 Pol'and'Rock was called Przystanek Woodstock, and the principle hasn’t changed: you pitch your tent anywhere on the huge field at Broczyno airfield, and many stay for several days. In front of the big stage there’s a mosh pit, mosh circles spin in the middle, and right at the back people lie on blankets. All around, ages and scenes mix, from toddlers to grandparents, and people greet each other with “Zaraz będzie ciemno!” – it’ll be dark soon.
What sets it apart from other big festivals happens next to the stages: in the Akademia Sztuk Przepięknych tents, thousands put their questions to politicians, priests and judges from nine in the morning, and in the workshop tent and the creative zone around 90 organisations and companies run the programme. If you remember the Kostrzyn years, you’ll find it cleaner and tamer today, and some find it too political; even the nostalgics praise the toilets.

Check first
- There’s hardly any shade, the field is hot and sandy, and in 2024 the mobile network was barely reachable for days: agree on fixed meeting points before you lose each other. If you come by car, you pay for parking, carry your luggage to the tent on foot and need patience when leaving; in 2023 some were stuck for seven hours.
Right for you
- You come for the people, not the line-up, you’re happy camping simply and you like neighbours who play guitar in the evening and share their beer. Coming back for decades is nothing unusual here, and first-timers mostly want to return straight away.
