Here you don’t buy a ticket, you buy a visa, and for one weekend you become citizens of a fictional city.

Parookaville isn’t an electronic festival with some decorations; it’s an elaborate fictional city on the former military airfield in Weeze. At the town hall you pick up a passport that gets stamped every year, at the post office postcards with their own postmark, at the jail a tattoo, and in the festival church thousands of couples say “I do” just for fun.
Musically, big EDM and hardstyle names rule; the main stage is rebuilt every year and kept secret until shortly before, with fireworks, lasers and drones in the evening. In between come Schlager and Ballermann party hits to bawl along to, much to the annoyance of some techno fans; after 4 am the party carries on at camp into the morning.

Check first
- Expect arrival and departure to take hours: in 2026 many guests waited for hours in traffic jams or at the shuttle. Arrive early, otherwise space for your crew gets tight, or reserve an area in Friends Village for groups of eight or more.
- Entry from age 18 only. Tickets sell out fast and are personalised; if someone drops out, passing a ticket on gets expensive.
Right for you
- You want a show rather than a basement club, turn up in glitter or costume and play along with the city game. If you’re coming alone, you’ll often find a crew on forums that’s still looking for people.
