Switzerland's biggest village festival, and the party tents are often busier than the stages.

In Gampel, plenty of people don't care who's on stage: the real star is the festival itself. A local club from a village of 2,000 builds it for tens of thousands, and the party tents keep going until six in the morning: disco fox in the Kuhstall, YMCA blaring from the Skihütte. The bill puts pop and rap names like Kygo and Marteria next to Swiss favourites like Bligg and Hecht.
The campsite village is a show of its own: paddling pools, inflatable sofas, haircuts paid in beer, and one guest hauled 30 kilos of sand from Rimini for a private beach. You run into school friends, your parents' neighbours and your old flame, and many come back year after year. Since 2026 it kicks off on Wednesday with a Valais party; on Sunday no bands play, but people dance on until noon.

Check first
- Food and drinks from home stay outside; for the camping, each person may bring three litres once, no glass. Inside it gets expensive: guests have complained about beer, food and showers for years.
- From Wednesday, only All Days or Wednesday ticket holders can camp, and saving spots is not allowed: arrive together as a crew. Expect to need plenty of patience at the entrance.
Right for you
- You want to live in a tent with your crew for four nights, drift between party tent and stage and get to know half of Valais along the way. If you want to discover new bands or sleep at night, you'll be better off elsewhere.
