Up top you dance in the bunkers of an old nuclear missile base; down in the camp, hundreds of crews build their own stages.

Since 1995, Nature One has been the techno scene’s big summer gathering, and since 1996 it has taken place at Pydna, a former US nuclear missile base in the Hunsrück. Around 20 floors are spread across the site, from the Open Air Floor to the bunkers, where clubs and labels host and the bass pushes back off the concrete walls. The dancing goes on through the night into the morning, and on Sunday DJ Dag plays the festival out into the sunrise.

For many, though, the CampingVillage is the real festival: from early Thursday, hundreds of private sound systems run there around the clock, often harder than up top, all the way to gabber. Twenty-year-olds party next to fifty-year-olds, and those who return call it coming home.

  • When it rains, the camp fields sink into mud; in 2024 arrivals were stopped for that reason, and from 2022 to 2024 guests were also stuck in traffic for up to 14 hours. In the regular camp you’ll hardly sleep; it’s quiet mainly in the SilentCamp, and even there some partied into the night in 2025.

Right for you

  • You come as a crew, party for four days in the camp, move between the bunker floor and the neighbouring camp during the festival nights, and maybe set up a sound system yourselves. If you come alone, big community camps take you in for a small contribution.
