The counterpart to the big metal festivals: around 35 bands over four days on a meadow in the Altmark, and about 5,000 people came in 2026. From your tents you’re in front of the stage within a few minutes, and even in the camp you can hear who’s playing. When it gets hot, the infield is noticeably emptier at midday because many prefer to stay in the pool across the way; in the mornings, that’s where people shower.
The bill brings names like Bloodbath, Primordial and Skindred; the crowd celebrates death, thrash and black metal above all, and power metal has a hard time here. Many have come every year since the first edition in 2014, have their regular spots in the camp and, with a bit of luck, run into musicians at the bar in the evening. Technical hitches happen fairly often: in several years, sound, mics or power cut out for individual bands.

Check first
- Generators are banned, inverters included, and the bar serves only one kind of beer; you can bring as many of your own drinks into the camp as you like. Some guests miss a clear stance against far-right visitors, and in 2023 the line-up included a band with links to the far-right scene.
