M'era Luna brings the dark scene together in one place: two concert days at Drispenstedt airfield, two stages, around 40 bands from VNV Nation and Within Temptation to Saltatio Mortis and OMD. People come here to be seen: costumes, latex, battle jackets and home-made clothes, and nobody looks at anyone funny, whether teenager with parents or regular for twenty years.
Many call it their family reunion, and everyone sings together: in 2024 a sea of lights glowed for VNV Nation's “Nova”, and the whole field belted out the Gummi Bears theme tune. In the camp, self-appointed DJs play every few metres, and one crew dances every year while brushing their teeth in front of the portaloos.

Check first
- There's hardly any shade on the airfield, and in 2026 it hit up to 34 degrees: pack a parasol and sunscreen; drinking water is free, bottles must be empty at the entrance. Regulars find it noticeably busier lately: it gets tight in front of the Clubstage, and in 2026 some queued for over two hours at the merch stand.
