Metal in front of the Razorback stage on Thursday, tens of thousands singing along with Gims on Sunday – and in between you get a comic signed.

The name comes from a poem by Rimbaud, and the site is a former factory wasteland right in the middle of Charleville-Mézières, directly on the Meuse. The programme changes from day to day: metal, French pop, rap, electro under the trees at night, plus dub at the Zion Club. Out front is a crowd that rarely meets anywhere else: metalheads, teenagers, kids who sing along to every line – half of them from the Ardennes.
Alongside it runs a second festival: comic artists sign for hours, the cinema has headphones and room to doze, and the Temps des Freaks has street performance and a fire at night.

Check first
- Camping 1 by the entrance is for partying; Camping 2, under the trees by the Vieille Meuse, is quieter but a bit of a walk. You book either one on top of your festival pass. After rain, puddles form in front of the main stage; water is free, so bring a bottle that isn't glass.
Right for you
- For crews with broad taste: up front for metal one day, part of the singalong the next, a comic in between. If you only want rock and metal, Thursday is when you'll get your fill.
