ITGWO feels like an island holiday with bands. The stages are tucked away: on hills with open views, in the woods by the water, at the harbour against a backdrop of ferries and tides. Between dunes and pines you drift more than you walk – sometimes that costs you a concert, sometimes you find a bar that isn’t on any map.

Alongside the music runs a whole island programme: art along the path from forest to beach, over a hundred drums playing day and night, Levend Stratego among the pines. Kids are everywhere, on dad’s shoulders in the mosh pit or gently crowd-surfing over the audience. The village joins in too, in 2026 with dinners hosted by islanders and cafés open until 3 am.

• Small stages close when they fill up, and 2026 was busier than ever: if there’s a band you want to see, set off early.
• Book your boat tickets separately and take the regular ferry if you’re bringing a handcart – none are allowed on the fast boat. Nights get cold, so bring a thick sleeping bag.

• For crews who want a festival and an island holiday in one and are happy dancing next to families. Nights at the campsite are described as quieter than at bigger festival campsites.
