Line-up

Sometimes a dust desert, sometimes a mud bath – and when a thunderstorm hits, you squeeze into a car with strangers.

  • Swim Team opens the festival
  • Annual animal artwork
  • Station within walking distance

Hurricane is the huge weekend between Hamburg and Bremen: around 78,000 people on a motorcycle sand track near Scheeßel and the fields around it. Big names in indie, pop, rap and punk fill the line-up, but the biggest crowds often gather for German-language stars such as Ski Aggu or Nina Chuba. The weather has earned it the nickname Schauercane (Schauer is German for shower), and most people take it with good humour.

The camp matters at least as much: gazebo villages, beer pong, flunkyball straight after arrival and neighbours who help pitch your tent. In the Regular camp, which regulars call Mordor, Mallorca-style party hits play until morning; in Green Camping people party more considerately. The crowd is peaceful, the police praise it year after year, and if you come alone you quickly find people to hang out with.

Check first

  • Festival and camping passes are sold separately, and friends are not grouped together on site: arrive together as a crew or book a Camping Claim.
  • Pack for both kinds of weather: wellies and a poncho, but also a cloth against the dust and earplugs for the nights.

Right for you

  • For crews who want big bands and three days of camp life, and who won’t let dust, rain or a thunderstorm break spoil their mood.
