Houghton is for people who come for the music and still like to drift: one DJ curates, and the stages are scattered across the park at Houghton Hall, under trees, by the lake, down in a pit. The sound ranks among the best in the country, even at the small stages.

There’s barely any phone signal, and that’s exactly what makes the place: you talk to strangers across all age groups, and if you come alone, you quickly find people to hang out with. Some do talk right through the set, though. And in dry summers there’s so much dust in the air that many dance with a scarf over their mouth.

• There are only weekend tickets, and only for over-18s; in 2026 they sold out in under four hours, with past attendees getting first access. Agree beforehand who buys for whom and when.
• At the entrance and at the shuttle back to King’s Lynn, guests have already queued for three hours in the sun: allow extra time and agree fixed meeting points, as messages often don’t get through.
