A festival for people who trust the programme more than the poster.

Haldern Pop is a festival for discovering, not for ticking off. The programme is mostly still-unknown indie, folk and singer-songwriter bands with only a few big names, and some acts that later made it big played here early on. The day starts in the morning in the church and the Pop Bar in the village and ends after midnight on the Alter Reitplatz between maize fields. During quiet sets the crowd usually listens remarkably silently; at night there are mosh pits and crowd-surfing in the Spiegelzelt.
The whole thing is carried by hundreds of helpers from the village and the surrounding area, and the size is deliberately capped at 7,000 guests a day. The crowd spans all ages, many over forty, plus families with children, and lately noticeably more young people have been coming again.

- At the church, the Pop Bar and the Spiegelzelt you’ll often queue for a long time and won’t always get in: if you want to see a particular band, get there early.
- In persistent rain, paths and grounds quickly turn muddy, so pack wellies.
