Hadra is considered France’s first psytrance festival, run by a non-profit association from Grenoble, and has been held by the lake at Vieure, between forest and water, since 2016. The main stage La Main at the bottom of the slope plays everything from progressive to forest, Paradoxe has techno and world music, La Bulle stays quiet, and in the Cocon a cellist with a loop pedal held the crowd for two hours.

By day the site belongs to the Village: free workshops from permaculture to DJing, talks, yoga, fire juggling – stay at your tent and you miss half of it. The crowd is warm and mostly French-speaking, and if you come alone, someone may well pull you in to dance; in between, a few people who have drunk too much get on your nerves.

Check first

• Expect a lot of police: over the years guests report checks at the entrance, sniffer dogs at the shuttle drop-off, searched cars and tents, and helicopters behind the main stage.
• Stoves are confiscated at the entrance, glass is banned, dogs aren’t allowed in. Pack rain gear and something to sit on, shelter and shade are scarce – and agree on meeting points, because at the bottom of the slope it’s pitch dark at night.
• Buy early: 2026 sold out, and there are no tickets on the door and no day tickets.

Right for you

• Fits if your crew wants psytrance at every level of intensity, would rather end up in a workshop than in front of the tent during the day, and finds Ozora too big. If you want colourful, cheerful dance floors at night, you’ll find the main stage rather dark.
