Forest Fest is a family weekend for anyone who grew up on cassettes and CDs: held in the village of Emo since 2022, an hour from Dublin, around 12,000 guests in 2025, and on Bee’s Wing Farm for the first time in 2026. The main stage gets the likes of Manic Street Preachers, Suede, James or Orbital, tribute bands play to packed tents, and the Fleadh stage has trad that even the kids dance to.
Toddlers stand next to people over fifty at the front, and 2025 brought noticeably more people around twenty; the field emptied after the Manics, and for Orbital you could get right up to the front. The walk between stages is short, the mood is more Gaelic football club do than big festival, and the festival’s running argument is the camping chairs blocking everything at the front.
At a glance
- Discovering music — Favourites first · 1 of 3
- Well-known bands from back in the day top the bill. As of 2026
- Beyond the concerts — Variety · 2 of 3
- Kids’ programme, bingo, workshops and football on the big screen. As of 2026
Check first
- Saturday is the busy day, the arena was at its limit in 2025 and 2026, and in 2025 the main stage ran ahead of the published schedule, with barely any phone signal. Your own drinks stay in the campsite, and campervan and caravan pitches go early.
Right for you
- You want to see your parents’ heroes live, ideally with your parents or the little ones, and you’re glad the big names mostly don’t come on after midnight.
