Musilac is the big summer festival of the Savoie: four July days on the Esplanade du Lac in Aix-les-Bains, with almost nine in ten guests from the region. The line-up runs on big names like Gorillaz and Jamiroquai and on French stars like Gaëtan Roussel, where everyone sings along. The two main stages stand side by side and take turns, so breaks often last only minutes. In front of them: families, regulars and young fans.
The catch is the site: a long, narrow strip along the shore, with around 30,000 people on full days. Many guests report crowding, pushing and seeing the stage only on the screen; further back, mostly the bass gets through. In the July heat there's little shade, misters and water fountains help, and some people explicitly found the same evenings relaxed.

Check first
- Plan your routes: shuttles from the park-and-ride and the station are often full, waits of over an hour happen, and then you still walk 20 minutes; no shuttle goes to the campsite, which needs its own pass. Payment is by wristband only; you have to claim leftover credit yourselves by the end of July, and in 2026 the cup deposit often wasn't refunded.
Right for you
- You want world stars and French hits in one evening, get to the barrier early and can handle crowds and heat. If you expect space, shade and a clear view from the back, you're likely to be disappointed here.
