Eden is the small, not-for-profit festival in the wooded parkland of the Raehills Estate near Moffat, with no sponsors and built by people from the area. Twelve stages and areas are spread among trees and streams, it’s a few minutes from your tent to the arena, and the programme runs from solo cello through reggae to psytrance. People come less for the names on the poster than for everything in between.
On site you’ll find toddlers in buggies, teenagers, festival veterans and older folks dancing to folk; many have been coming for years, and strangers quickly become friends. Yoga, drumming and crafts are included in the ticket, and in 2025 the Melodrome served free tea in china cups.

Check first
- Under-18s only get in with a companion over 21 who has their own ticket. Bag searches at the entrance are thorough, and your own alcohol stays at camp.
- Pack wellies and insect repellent: after rain the area in front of the main stage turns into a swamp, and in the evening the midges come out.
Right for you
- If your crew would rather roam the woods than wait in front of the main stage, likes having kids around and takes mud as part of the weekend.
