Echelon is named after the US spy network whose radar installations stood here, and it parties on the abandoned station: a wide meadow, white domes and, in clear weather, a view of the mountains. On Friday and Saturday seven floors run with big names such as Charlotte de Witte, Boris Brejcha and Paul van Dyk, plus drum and bass, harder styles and Symbiotikka, the dark series from Berlin’s KitKat Club.

The crowd is mostly young, comes from all over Germany and beyond, wears a lot of black, and guests experience the atmosphere as peaceful. Here Scooter with “Hyper Hyper” shares the line-up with the hard floor – a highlight for some, a reason for techno purists to shake their heads.

Check first

  • Shade is scarce, there was hardly any free drinking water on the site in 2025 and 2026, and the portaloos often lacked paper and water for washing hands.
  • In 2025 a storm flooded the site, camp and car park, and Saturday was cancelled. Many regulars feel the festival has been slipping for years, and the police are out in force, with checks outside the site that sometimes go as far as stripping down.
