Download Festival
Download Festival 2027: 9 Jun 2027 – 13 Jun 2027, Castle Donington. Line-up, timetable and a plan with your crew – free, no ads.
Eighty thousand singing arm in arm with strangers – and after the headliner, the tents keep going into the early hours.
- Camp for solo travellers
- Rubber ducks to swap
- Annual reunion
Download is the big rock and metal gathering at Donington Park: a long weekend around the racetrack, with bands that get tens of thousands singing along, from Iron Maiden to Green Day to Sleep Token. Next to the stages a village springs up with a funfair, a Ferris wheel and a cinema, and at night the tents host silent disco, karaoke and DJs.
For its size, Download is surprisingly friendly: in the pit people pull anyone who falls back to their feet, strangers hand out beer and caps, and among the black T-shirts you’ll spot Hulk Hogan, cows and Pikachu. The price of that size: packed areas, long queues and, in 2025, a wave of thefts in the arena and at camp.

Check first
- Pack for mud and long walks: the clay ground turns into a swamp when it rains, and getting from the car park or bus to your tent with all your gear can take an hour or more. Walking boots, a festival trolley and a camp close to the arena will save you a lot of energy.
Right for you
- You want the biggest bands with a choir of tens of thousands, love dressing up, and after the headliner you’d rather head for the party tent than your sleeping bag.
