Camper Calling is the festival that grandparents, parents, teenagers and dogs head to together: a long weekend in August in the grounds of Ragley Hall, a stately home in Warwickshire. The main stages belong to well-known bands from back in the day such as Ocean Colour Scene and Travis, plus tribute bands and DJ sets from famous names. Days are filled with the circus tent, crafts, an arcade and children’s theatre at the stately home; in the evening the silent disco in the woods beckons.
The flip side of the big family camp: many set up their chairs in the arena in the morning and stay seated until evening, trolleys and blankets block the walkways, and security barely steps in. Since the festival has grown, even long-time guests complain about crowded fields, shower queues and expensive food.

Check first
- Arrive on Thursday or early on Friday, otherwise you’ll spend a long time looking for a pitch; Thursday costs extra and has to be booked in advance.
- Quiet family camps are no guarantee: in 2025 people partied into the early hours in Hamlet and Romeo too, while in 2026 Hamlet stayed quiet. There’s hardly any phone signal, so agree on fixed meeting points, especially with teenagers.
Right for you
- If you’re coming with kids, siblings or your dog and want a relaxed weekend with well-known bands. If you want to party with people your own age until morning, this isn’t for you: the programme ends at 11 pm, the music at midnight.
