Biergarten Festival is a brass music party, not a brass band concert: on the Gaiberg there are beer benches for thousands, fairground rides and a party barn styled like an alpine hut. On stage you get Kapelle Josef Menzl, voXXclub and Melissa Naschenweng; the musical range stretches to electro swing, and at night there’s Brass & Bass and house – no wonder the 2026 motto was “Tradition trifft Eskalation” (tradition meets escalation).

The real thing happens between the stages: brass band clubs arrive with their instruments and keep playing in the camp, even in the rain, and newcomers quickly end up in the neighbours’ wagon circle. Many wear traditional dress, some drive six hours from Austria, and anyone who’s been once comes back and knows the people.

Check first

  • Pack earplugs: in the camp, trumpets blast from 5 a.m. to 2 a.m., and the water there isn’t drinking water. Set off early – before the 2026 start the queue of cars stretched for kilometres – and after rain the camp paths get so muddy that in 2025 cars only made it out with a run-up.

Right for you

  • If you like your brass music loud and made for partying along, prefer a beer bench to the front row and camp on one field with families, brass band clubs and party crews.
