Line-up

When a thunderstorm rolls in, half the region huddles together in the stands, and in 2019, after the show was called off, they sang the Sauerland anthem there.

  • Stadium deep in the woods
  • Bouncy castle world for kids
  • Outdoor pool by the campsite

Bautz is Lüdenscheid’s own festival: run by the town’s marketing office, carried by volunteers, in the Nattenberg stadium among green hills and trees. Four stages range across the genres, from big names on the main stage and the Turntable Stage for dancing to the Alma de Mallorca stage, where you can barely get through the crowd.

Around 10,000 people come each day, families, regulars and groups of friends from the area, and the atmosphere is known as peaceful and relaxed. Kids run wild on bouncy castles and air cushions, wear a wristband with their parents’ number, and people make room for them in the crush. If you camp, you’re one of a few hundred by the outdoor pool, two minutes from the site, playing Flunkyball from mid-morning.

Check first

  • You can’t park at the stadium: take the shuttle, which runs on four routes until 3 am and is sold online only, or walk 20 to 25 minutes from the station. Payment is only by chip on your wristband, and every year since 2024 has brought rain or thunderstorms: pack a proper rain jacket, because it fills up fast under the roof of the stands.

Right for you

  • You want two days of big names and stadium atmosphere at a low ticket price, with kids, parents or your friends, and a shower won’t put you off.
