Line-up
Rock in Viking country, so close-knit that early-bird tickets for the following year had sold out by the Monday after the festival.
- Viking village with a campfire area
- Horns to open the infield
- Rock shuttle to Schleswig station
Baltic Open Air is rock and metal on a manageable scale: around 10,000 people and two stages that don't get in each other's way, because younger bands play the tent stage before the big names start on the main stage. The crowd is mixed and on the older side; many have been coming for years and talk about one big family where you quickly get to know people. On top of that there's mead, a medieval market with crafts and, in 2025, a Ferris wheel with a view out over the stages.
Until 2025, the walk from tent to stage took only a few minutes. In 2026 the site shifted, because a solar park now stands on the old infield.

Check first
- Pitches in the camp are allocated on arrival, not reserved: arrive as a crew with all your cars together, or you may end up camping apart. Music often plays on the campground until late into the night, so pack earplugs.
Right for you
- You want rock and metal without the crush of a big festival, like having your beer with people you know from last year, and find grey hair in front of the stage rather endearing.
