Ancient Trance grew out of a jaw harp gathering in 2007 and is still run by a volunteer association. The name means ecstasy, and here it comes from handmade music from all over the world, from drums and overtone singing: instrument makers show their craft, a forge makes jaw harps in front of an audience, and drum circles form spontaneously on the meadows.
The party is right in the middle of a small town: stages, bars and stalls sit in the town park, a slackline stretches across the pond, a drum procession winds through the park. Between concerts there are workshops from dance to crafts, plus a sauna, fire art and singing circles, and many guests come back every year.

- Come by train, tram or bike: from Taucha station it’s about a ten-minute walk to the park, parking is scarce, and streets clogged with parked cars have annoyed Taucha residents for years. Tickets are sold online only, and tent pitches can’t be reserved.
