African Beats brings African music to an old manor farm 30 kilometres south of Warsaw, with two century-old windmills, a chapel, a smithy and stables full of animals. The grounds are spacious and away from the bustle, between orchards, woodland and a landscape park. On Friday and Saturday, bands such as Fatoumata Diawara, Tamikrest and Elida Almeida play from late afternoon; the last set starts at 10 pm, then DJs take over in the Afrobeats zone.
By day this is more journey than concert: you learn to drum, dance and sing, more than twenty travellers talk about Africa, and there is African cinema and a market with clothes, jewellery and crafts. Sunday is given over entirely to this programme and admission is free.

Check first
- Without a car it gets awkward: buses run as far as Tarczyn or Grójec, and you cover the last ten kilometres or so by taxi. You can find lifts via BlaBlaCar or the community’s Facebook group.
- The campsite is booked separately and has no power; you charge at the charging point or in the washrooms, and one visitor reports a weak internet connection on site.
