Sajeta shows the offbeat side of Slovenia: electronica, jazz, rock, ethno and classical with a taste for experiment, underground from close by and far away, plus film, poetry, dance and sculpture. Over the years cult names such as The Fall, Damo Suzuki and The Orb have played here; the 2026 programme listed twenty performances on two stages, with the last sets scheduled after midnight. Days aren't spent in the tent: yoga, sculptures from wood and river clay, a music lab and open-air cinema on Wednesday.

For almost three decades Sajeta took place where the Soča and Tolminka meet in Tolmin; Karavla near Breginj is new, with the campsite in the woods next to it. A friendly crowd, workshops for young and old, sculptures everywhere: that reputation comes from the old site and still has to prove itself at the new one. A regular of 26 years stayed away in 2026, citing the move.

• Karavla is remote: regular buses end 3.5 kilometres away in Breginj, so it's a car or the festival shuttle from Tolmin, whose 2026 timetable listed a return at 2:15 am. Camping is limited, costs extra and has no power: reserve it in advance by email and charge your phone at the bar.

Right for you

• You want music that isn't on the radio, would rather spend the day with clay, wood or yoga than in the tent, and don't need big names on the poster.
